| Hastings DEMU 1001 thumps its way west round Crofton curve with the West Somerset Limited railtour from Hastings to Minehead. These units were built in 1957-8 for use on the line from London to Hastings and were designed with a restricted loading gauge to suit several narrow tunnels (as were the Class 33/2 locomotives). Currently the middle two vehicles in this set have been replaced with normal width stock which gives a rather odd appearance |
