Soo 410,2412 are at Wisconsin Rapids with the normal assortment of box cars for paper loading, tanks with chemicals and wood pulp for the paper mills. The train is on the joint Soo-CNW track that went south to the mills at Port Edwards and Nekoosa. The great looking track in the foreground is the Milwaukee Road line that had been recently rebuilt for coal trains operating to a power plant near Wausau. The Wisconsin Rapids area was a great place to watch trains in the 70's and 80's. It was served by GB&W,Soo,C&NW, Milwaukee Road and also Nekoosa Papers had some units and trackage working the area.
