The Laurinburg & Southern's crossing with the CSX is protected by smashboards. While the LRS is crossing the CSX's main, the stop signs are swung around over the larger road's track to alert oncoming trains, and then returned to their normal position blocking the shortline's track after clearing the crossing. In the distance is the Laurinburg & Southern's enginehouse. For another smashboard image from my Smashboard Tour 2008, click here.
