Remarks & Notes

The wheat, oats and wine-producing region of the western Cape is known as the “Swartland”, the black country, named for the colour of its rich soil. This pair of class 35’s is heading north through the wheatfields towards the town of Moorreesburg, working the daily weekday freight from Malmesbury to the PPC cement factory at De Hoek.
