| GRN 704 passes through a parking lot in front of some local businesses. One thing I recall from shooting the GRN was their slow running on rickety track through commercial areas. At this scene the train pulled up and stopped short of somebody's vehicle left fouling the track while they went shopping. After stopping, the crew sat there blowing the horn repeatedly until the owner came running out and moved his car. That same day we were setting up for a shot near the entrance to a golf course when the management confronted us with his complaints about the railroad. He thought we were associated with the railroad, and when he found out we were just railfans he left us alone. I don't think the GRN had a very good reputation with the locals. |
