The evening shadows are long as 4210 east passes the signboard for Zeke on the LTV Mining Railroad. There is no side track here but this is where the most precipitous part of the decent into the Lake Superior Basin begins. In just a few miles this train will reach the dock at Taconite Harbor and dump its trainload of iron ore pellets without needing to stop. Sadly today the A-B-B-B-B-A sets of Fs no longer make this trip and the rails are idle here.
