| The idyllic Derbyshire setting of Grindleford offers a glimpse into the 'railway of old' complete with traditional signal-box and semaphore signals. Two 'Black 5' 4-6-0's thunder through the station and are about to plunge into the southern portal of Totley tunnel. At 6,230-yards on the former Midland Railway Manchester-Sheffield line and completed in 1893 and is the longest non-electrified tunnel in Britain. It runs between Grindleford in Derbyshire and Totley on the outskirts of Sheffield, South Yorkshire |
