The first colours of Autumn are showing as 'Oliver Cromwell' begins to climb Garforth bank heading east towards Micklefield and York. Garforth was originally a small mining village, but has now grown to provide commuters with a home within easy reach of Leeds. This stretch of line is very busy and Garforth East, a new station was built in recent times (just beyond the red footbridge in the distance). The original, larger Garforth station is about another half mile beyond. The spire of St. Mary's Church is clearly visible on the skyline.
