Remarks & Notes |
The last revenue run of the day whistles the unpaved crossing at Alna Center enroute to Sheepscot Station. The mixed train you see was very typical of 2 foot operations in Maine during the early 1900s, as the narrow gauge lines sought maximum efficiency on every run. The sold-out wooden coach that is trailing the 2 flats is an original Wiscasset & Quebec piece that dates back to 1894. |
