Remarks & Notes |
Fog sets the mood for this doomed rail line. The bush has been reclaiming the right of way since May 2005 when the final train ran. Grasses cover the ballast and rust continues its attack on the line. In the ditches abandoned flanger signs and mileboards are slowly absorbed into bush which is growing quickly. Within the coming weeks these rails will be removed, and trains will cease to exsist along the Kinghorn rail line, however plans are already in the works to convert it into a recreational trail between Thunder Bay and Nipigon. |
