| The SP between Houston and Hempstead was a haven for catching lower quad semaphores in Texas; the large majority of the block signals between Cypress and Hempstead hung on 'till the end. On our way back from slaying Santa Fe kodachromes over between Bellville and Temple, an SP business car and a ubiquitous SP caboose bring up the rear of the Dallas to Houston daily dog train and compliment a view of the last days of the semaphores. |
