While the rest of the world is enjoying spring it is still very much winter in Alaska! The "snow fleet" consisting of a GP38-2 back to back with a GP40-2 is pushing Jordan Spreader #7 and pulling the ARR's sole depressed center flat car with a big excavator on it. They are crossing the Placer River here at MP 54 on the ARR's mainline as they work south trying to clear snow slides at MP 53 and 49 that have had the railroad closed for over a week. The ARR's MofW forces are second to none as they battle the elements in the last frontier. |
