Beck's Run use to mark the eastern end of the J&L Steel Works, featuring an interchange yard and bridge spanning Carson street. Today, J&L has been replaced with the UPMC medical center and condos. The last remnants of the interchange yard, Beck Tower, was destroyed earlier this year.
