| An old shot from 1984. 44767 George Stephenson is the only member of the Black Five class to be fitted with Stephenson Link Motion. Fortunately, this fine loco is preserved. It is seen here at Hellifield after bringing in the Cumbrian Mountain Express from Carnforth. A4 no. 60009 Union of South Africa had just left, taking the train on to Carlisle. Here we see 44767 moving forward to take water before returning to Carnforth. |
