| This pleasant little footpath that meandered almost into the heart of Bury has now all but disappeared to encroaching urbanisation. It has been a casualty of the ghastly 'tin shed' syndrome that creeps like a rash across once characterful towns and cities. How sad that simple pleasures such as the glimpse of a passing train are likely to be viewed by future generations whilst surrounded by fast food 'restaurants' or 'supermarkets R us' or something equally uplifting. I'm on a soapbox again! |
