Remarks & Notes |
Universally known as 'Pugs' these diminutive 0-4-0 tank engines were usually to be found on freight shunting duties in docklands or other sites with tight curve radii. These sturdy little locomotives were introduced in 1891 but this example was built in 1901 at the L&Y's Horwich works in Lancashire. Here she basks in spring sunshine outside the Vintage Carriage Museum at Ingrow, Keighley. A worthwhile place to visit if you're in Yorkshire! |
