Having reached the end of their useful lives, two ARR 60 ft plug door boxcars have been shoved to the end of the track and lifted of their trucks. The cars were built by PC&F in 1965 and are among the last of a fleet of 35 the ARR once owned. 2008 will see the remaining handful of this fleet scrapped, most likely here at AK Metals, an online rail customer located in South Anchorage. Rising beyond are the Chugach Mountains.
