Jubilee class 45579 ‘Punjab’ stands on the site of the former North Staffordshire Railway shed in Derby, with the still very active ex-Midland Railway double roundhouse behind. The front row of locos on the depot is the scrap line, and behind that are a mixture of active steam locos and newly built diesels, both from Derby Loco Works (partially visible behind the shed) and from Brush Engineering at Loughborough. This was my first photograph of a steam loco, and is the only one in my collection that I cannot date exactly, though the presence of the first prototype blue Brush Type 4, D1733, puts it in April or May 1964. Taken with my very sophisticated first camera, a Kodak Brownie 127!
