The only 4-6-4 tender locomotive to run in Great Britain is seen in its days as a high-pressure 4-cyl compound loco with a 450lb/sq in Yarrow water tube boiler. Built in 1929 it is seen waiting at Grantham with the 10.05 Edinburgh to Kings Cross express. It was rebuilt as a conventional 3-cyl engine in 1937 (see photo id 226414). Photo by the late T.G.
