| Buried within the ramps and conrcrete of the El Monte Busway, the tracks of the one time Pacific Electric San Bernardino Line still exist as Metrolink's San Gabriel Sub. Here we see a train departing the combination train/bus station at Cal State LA. The Pacific Electric tracks here lost passenger service in 1950. The El Monte Busway was built around them in 1974. And passenger trains were finally returned in 1992. While the Busway is a major success, this is also Metrolink's most successful and popular lline. |
