| On the last day trams ran in London, a number 35 from Highgate passes Charing Cross UndergrounD station on the Embankment. In central london the trams took their power by means of a 'plough' that ran in conduit between the rails, hence the trolley pole being lowered. A photo by the late C.R.L. Coles. |
