| Reading T1 Northern #2101 is temprorarily transformed into American Freedom Train #1 to handle the tight clearances in the east. From July 23 to July 25 of 1976, she made her Morristown visit at the home of Mennen Speed Stick (the Mennen facility in Morris Plains). T1 #2101 began life in the Reading Shops in 1945. Because it was wartime, new locos could not be built, so she was "rebuilt" from a I10sa 2-8-0 (Baldwin 1923). |
