EDRJ makes its way west with two Highhood GP40 engines and 13 cars
A pair of Norfolk Southern EMDs pause in front of Schenectady International before crossing NYS Route 5S to bring their train into the yard on a blustery afternoon.
After chasing CP 934 (PAS 22K) back to Mechanicville it had to wait for EDRJ (seen) to pass. I decided to chase this train back to R.J.
A late afternoon arrival allows for a train from East Deerfield, MA bound to Rotterdam Junction, NY to be photographed as it passes by Schenectady International.
Been a LONG time since I've been able to do this shot at this location with a westbound on the "Grinch". The '501' replaced the '327' at Deerfield Yard.
The crew of PAR EDRJ waits on the Hudson river bridge on a gorgeous Labor Day afternoon for a NS #938 to clear through Mechanicville before proceeding west.
Old and new: A General Railway Signal Company electric switch lock guards the lead to the Adams Industrial Track next to a brand new SD70M-2. I'll take the electric lock. :-)
EDRJ crosses the Deerfield River, enters the Mohawk Trail State Forest, and starts climbing toward Hoosac Tunnel, five miles away. The Rte. 2 overpass is visible in the background.
