On a brutally cold afternoon in Chicago, L536 heads south with a pair of Illinois Central SD70's leading on home rails. This is a sight that will never get tiring.

IC 1025 crosses the diamond at 16th Street with Chicago's beautiful downtown skyline in the background. Still guarding the Rock Island/Illinois Central diamond is 16th Street Tower.

IC 1035 leads CN L536 south on home rails as it passes by Kensington Tower. Kensington is where the South Shore gets onto the IC and continues into downtown Chicago.

CN L536 gets its journey started and crosses the bridge over Bubbly Creek. This bridge was built in 1906 for the Chicago and Alton RR. To the left is CTA's Ashland stop on the orange line.
