The daily interchange train from Kalamazoo to the NS at Elkhart heads south across southern Michigan farm lands on a bitterly cold March morning.
Shortly after sunrise a southbound 302 with the WSOR 4077 rolls through Three Rivers and Across the St. Joseph River as it heads for the Interchange with the NS at Elkhart.
My last spot in the Chase was just south of Schoolcraft where the train is back to running track speed. Nice to see some WSOR power in Michigan and being able to chase on a nice day!
After snaking through town, 302 is notched out as they climb up hill and try to get back up to track speed.
Minus the Watco GP this could be just another winters day in Wisconsin, well for now. But instead 4077 is one of two WSOR SD40's sent to the GDLK in the last week or two to help get freight moving... (more)

WSOR works the Cottage Grove industries. The track on the right is the former CNW Madison-Waukesha main, which turns into a bike path about 2000' down the track.
