A loaded ore train with 15065 leading is busy crossing here over the Soutrivier (Salt river) as well as the N7 highway through an area called Knersvlakte (meaning gnashing or grinding plains).

A relative short ore train from the normal ones which are close to 4km in length runs west with 3 class 15E locos up front between Loop 4 and 5 north of Vanrhynsdorp.

With only minutes of sunlight left 3 class 35s grind up the grade with a load from the Namaqua Sands plant which they will drop off at Loop 4 of the Sishen - Saldanha ore line.
