Roundhouse in background
Nice fresh paint looking good, slug mom, yard switcher.
A regular afternoon train at this time was this one which always had a SOU unit or two.
A little wear but still looking OK. I keep all my FL shots together. It was, in my mind, a "quasi railroad" before it became a well, a quasi railroad.
The double water tower is a dead giveaway for the location. But this location is so insignificant it isn't in the RP menu.
Originally Tennessee Central
The moneysaving removal of the brakewheel is evident here. Where was the FRA?
This is one of the four L&N orginals, not an SCL castoff. One wonders if these units ever pulled a passenger train, even in a test. Man, I'd like to have that shot.
This was about the last year for these great old beasts. I think I have a shot of one in 85 or 86.
The old enginehouse is still there in this shot. The late 3500s-early3600s were in an aborted merger number series and were the first L&N units delivered in FL.
One of the first order. I still like the gyralites.
