A beautiful day for watching trains in Palmer Lake. Emily and Olivia take a look at UP 4542 as it heads south out of town.
UP 3205 working at the Laramie yards on a very cold, and very windy January morning.

A rustic setting in beautiful country, as BNSF 4692 moves west along the Dotsero Cutoff.
Coming into Palmer Lake I was not expecting to see this, and I only had a second to jump out of the car and snap one or two quick shots.
From the twists, dips and turns of Highway 105, this particular curve offers a wonderful view of BNSF 5914 making its way SB along the Joint Line.
UP 7267 heads west late in the afternoon near Parshall.
Both trains pass the house with the awesome view. The train in the background is heading north, while BNSF 9941 is approaching Palmer Lake on its way south.
Having just passed through Palmer Lake, BNSF 8219 travels south down into Monument.

Last day of 2009 as BNSF 6427 races east across the plains near Fort Morgan.
Looking more like a toy, CC & V 2 is just leaving the Depot. It's only about a 40 minute round trip, but offers both beautiful scenery, and an interesting glimpse into the past.
BNSF 5907 heads south along I-25 through Castle Rock.
