On the return trip from Trail back to Nelson, the hot shot emerges from the trees to get a glimpse of the Columbia River, which the Rossland Sub follows all the way between Trail and Castlegar.

The Kraft switcher has just finished switching it’s delivery which the hot shot set out for the crew, and is now returning to the Celgar mill a few miles down the former Boundary Sub.

The hot shot crosses Stoney Creek Bridge and will soon enter the Tadanac Yard.

The hot shot rolls alongside the Kootenay River with the fall colors in full swing as they head to Castlegar and Trail.
