The H34 waits in the north end of Vardo yard after experiencing mechanical problems. These highhood SD40-2 are probably my favorite NS engines.
The only real color on this dark and dreary day is from the switchstand, as an NS local slowly rolls up the rails headed west for Mechanicsburg.
A very nice consist neads north with Guilford and a NS slugset trailing. This elevator (Martins) is one of NS's largest local customers.
