35 066 leaves Kalbaskraal with this unique Metro. There are only a few Metro's hauled by Diesel in South Africa. Once the the train branches off at Kraaifontain, their is no electrical power.

The hours tick literally by for lines of steam engines at Transnet's Millsite - all soon to be no more in a couple of months, as on-site scrap metal merchants demolish the remaining steam stock.

Bogie wheels, cylinders and the bottom of a flame-cut smokebox - the last earthly remains of a once-mighty steam loco, now departed for the great marshalling yard in the sky!
