On what was a rainy, cloudy day. I saw small opening of blue sky, and was able to catch UP 7381 in the sunlight. UP 7381, 7243, and 7724 head westbound with the Oquirrh Mountains for a back drop.

Tier 4 GE 2728, and EMD SD70ACE 8922, lead the IG2LA. It's a very beautiful afternoon, but very windy on the Lynndyl Subdivision.

UP 1989 passes threw southwest reaches of The Great Salt Lake. The water here is being used for commercial evaporation ponds. Morton Salt has a plant near by, with a giant mountain of salt.
