The 2nd Mount Vernon Local steps off Evansville Western trackage for a right hand turn on the wye to interchange at CSX Howell Yard.

Following an empty TVA coal train, train MVL2 passes a restrict and proceed signal at the north end of Nations Siding (formerly Lamott), only a few miles from it's terminus north of town.
