A quartet of Altoona built SD40E's assist an eastbound coal train over the West Slope of the PRR Pittsburgh Line on a beautiful and surprisingly mild February afternoon.

A Conrail blue SD60I leads a coal train up the mountain at Summerhill along with a C40-9 and four SD40E on the rear end .

Snowy rolling hills, signs of the PRR's past everywhere and just an unmatched great railroad feel. Little doubt you're in Western PA. Gotta love it.

The leaves are almost or near peak as 80MAC 7216 appears to be at it's peak in life as it smokes up the West Slope, taken from the famous route 53 overpass.

7216 died just east of here, luckily, in front of the engine house at Cresson.

With a total of 10 engines 8 of them are pushers, and with 6 on the tail end shoving hard towards Gallitzin NS 590 rolls under PA 53 on track 1.

Pushers are working hard keeping the momentum up on this 590 coal drag past the famous Cassandra Overlook.
