EVWR 3840 makes his way East on the ex-L&N/CSX line near Opdyke, IL. As he is headed towards Evansville, IN, he passes a stopped NS coal drag in the siding at Shirley.

The 2nd Mount Vernon Local steps off Evansville Western trackage for a right hand turn on the wye to interchange at CSX Howell Yard.
Following an empty TVA coal train, train MVL2 passes a restrict and proceed signal at the north end of Nations Siding (formerly Lamott), only a few miles from it's terminus north of town.
After loading at Cimarron, KY in the morning, the train will interchange to the Evansville Western and run as HAD110 to Southwind Martime Terminal in Mt. Vernon, IN for transloading to barge. Aft... (more)

Sometimes you get lucky... a one in three chance of getting system locomotive in the lead and not a much better chance of full sun. Nice to be lucky when you are 400 miles away from home.
