Second day in a row a CN duo lead the Q620. This time I grabbed a shot of Sunday's Q620 at French's Hollow with CN 2221 leading.

UP 7220 leads the K036 under the French's Hollow Rd Bridge on it's way to Selkirk with a long loaded oil train behind it on a bright summer afternoon.

3 historical beasts lead Q351 past auto 26. While the trailing old Canadian Pacific SD40's catch your gaze, shift instead to the CSX leader. This one bears a slight history. 8842, was built by ... (more)

BNSF is becoming common power out here in upstate but it is always nice to see. Here is BNSF 5884 pulling its train of loaded to oil to Selkirk on track one.

CEFX 1509 trails on a K train with 7749 pulling it to Selkirk on a windy late Sunday in early April. For my first time seeing a Genset like 1509, it looks quite odd looking but unique.

Seeing EMD's is always a great sight and this was no different. UP 8398 and UP 3796 pull S380 towards Selkirk with it's headlights turned off passing the L279 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

This was the second 384 that day. It was quite short and had new MTA cars at the end. I heard this train picked them up in Utica.

After watching the re-crew at Fonda I chased this train to French's Hollow and the crew remembered me because the engineer is pointing at me and they said hey to me over the radio which was cool. ... (more)

Today was very windy but with a heads up and with the sun coming back out I grabbed this shot of this grain train in route to Horizon Milling in the Port of Albany, NY.

CSX standard cabs are slowly becoming a thing of the past. This was a nice catch, 7593 still in YN2 paint. Most standard cabs you see out in our area have been repainted in YN3 or YN3B. It's sad t... (more)
