Eastbound intermodal train 26E crosses the Vermilion River, with the Central of Georgia Heritage Unit leading.

Using the Central of Georgia heritage unit on home rails, the "Hill Engine" pulls a loaded Herzog ballast train from Vulcan Materials' Barin Quarry in Columbus, GA.

Our first shot was in some great evening light at Waring, GA. This curve swings north out of Waring passing the 36 milepost heading for Varnell.

NS train 378 crosses the Chattahoochee River, out of Alabama, and into Columbus, Georgia, with the Central of Georgia heritage unit operating on "home rails".
