Northbound Above Packer St. , With Ex Conrail Engine Second Engine On Train
A long and empty coal drag south with only one SD70. EMD's everywhere even on NS. I'm not mad!
During the famous "triple the hill" the NS crew takes a break in famous Saluda. This operation ended in 2003, the rails now wait for a train that may or may not come.
After doubling the hill NS 2530 puts it's train together for the trip back to Ashville. Freight has been off the mountain since 2003 due to re routes. No one knows if they will return.
Eastbound NS 115 creeps along BNSF trackage...he'll rejoin the company main in a mile or so after crossing the CN (IC) double-track main.
NS G38 & CS 196 both ready to head to their trains.
NS 111 climbs the hill...
