C&TS K-36 #484 eases down the mountain with a freight train in tow amongst some brilliant autumn colors.

The second locomotive in the consist, CTS 484, and the remainder of the train have to wait for the first locomotive and Rotary OY to cross Lobato Trestle due to a weight restriction on the bridge.

The train has been reassembled after crossing Lobato Trestle and continues its ascent up the 4% grade clearing the track from Chama, NM to Cumbres Pass in Colorado.

Osier is the midday lunch stop for the trains from Chama and Antonito. It can be a hectic place when both trains are in, but in this image we can see the remote beauty of this special place. We ... (more)
