IC 1027 leads a group of 6 locomotives in to the CN engine shop in Homewood Illinois

CN L536 making it’s slow trek through Chicagoland on it’s way from CN Glenn Yard to Kirk Yard in Gary, IN.

After holding at Kensington for a South Shore commuter from NWI, L536 blasts through Homewood heading south for the connection at Matteson. On point is IC 1021, a 1999 built SD70.

IC 1021 brings L536 down the Mainline of Mid America as they creep out of downtown. They crawl through this section of track since they have a restriction until fully out of McCormick Place.

IC 1003 heads south out of Chebanse, passing some classic Illinois Central codeline. A408 usually works Otto first thing in the morning and blasts down the Mainline of Mid America right at sunrise... (more)

CN A408 splits the Gilman coaling towers with a timeless Illinois Central SD70 duo on point. Seeing IC SD70's fly up and down the old main is a treat that can still be shot.
