VIA Rail's "Canadian" pauses in Jasper for a station stop. This is the first run of this train with the rebuilt F40s as sole power. F40PH-2Ds 6402 and 6452 provide the muscle.

Eastbound "Canadian" No.2 heads up the Kicking Horse valley west of Field B.C.

An unusually long Canadian slows as it crosses the bridge and heads into Rivers for a station stop. This train was 20+ cars long. Not something we usually see outside the summer months.

Suprisingly on time today, The Canadian hammers past the Oakville elevator at 73MPH. Makes you re think the no horn request the town has here.

The Westbound CANADIAN rolls through the lower canyon of the Kicking Horse River

Via 6422 leads the Canadian west of Lake Louise.

The westbound "Canadian" is minutes away from it's next station stop in Jasper. Shot at 400mm.

VIA 6414 leads #2 east with a final destination of Toronto, ON.

Train number 1 crosses the Assiniboine River at St Lazare, MB

With the new later schedule for VIA's "Canadian" trains this shot is now possible for the eastbound #2. Running about 2 hours late, 6424 and 6406 head east at Henry House with 18 coaches.

VIA's eastbound "Canadian" has just arrived in Melville off of the Watrous Sub.
