Climbing at Milepost 13, V&T #29 has just passed thru American Flat tunnel. The right of way it will soon traverse can be seen to the upper left of the stack.
#29 has just taken water at Scales and is now heading for the North side of American Flat. For the time being, V&T is using the tender off their ex-SP 0-6-0 #1251 to provide water at Scales.

On a bright July day, after driving all night from Utah, I rise from my car to see four beautiful steam engines simmering in the morning air.
I finally got to see one of my favorite engines under steam and operating for the public. Long live the INYO!
