Tehachapi Loop

After having just negotiated the loop at Walong, a Union Pacific special emerges from Tunnel 10, as it works its way through the Tehachapi Mountains.

This UP westbound just managed to make it in time to catch the last light at this location. In a few moments, the train will be descending the Loop.

In the evening light, northbound double-stacks behind UP 4946 coil into the great Tehachapi Loop. The vantage point would seem to be an excellent spot for one's front porch!
