KB&S 705 slows to pick up two cuts from the ADM silos at Swanington.

KB&S 705, now with loads in hand, power about 40 of them up the hill through Earl Park.

701 awakens the small town of Sheldon with it's Leslie RS3L.

After coupling all six units together, 701 leads the ferry move south on the old NYC main.

At the enginehouse, 315, 318, and 321 await their turn for duty. It won't be today, unfortunately for me.

At St Anne, there is no run-around siding, just a facing point switch. So how do you switch this elevator? On the KBS, they split the power. 308 pulls loads out of the siding to start.

Two trains about 3 minutes apart.....KBS' Lafayette turn is about 1/4th of a mile from the end of his day....

Shortline heaven....the Toledo Peoria and Western crosses KBS' main to Lafayette at Sheldon....

The cliche small town....grain elevators....dirt roads....and jointed rail.....

At one time the KBS was an all Alco railroad but nowadays they rely one rebuilt CNW GP40s.....a train from Lafayette has just finished making his setout at Oxford, IN as he continues towards Iriqo... (more)
