A loaded export coal train heads south running right along the beautiful Turnagain arm.
A large road train from Fairbanks pulls up to the Junction for a recrew after a long night run from Fairbanks.
3003 leads a northbound work train through Matanuska Junction. 3003 is one of just 3 Black and Gold GP40-2's.
4008 is the DPU on today's QAP train as they unload at the stone yard off of C street. It will lead the trip back north to Kashwitna.

Running several hours late the and passengers being bussed to Anchorage the HEX shoves towards the coach yard and shops just as the sun ducks below the thick rain clouds.
The MEX hugs the rocks closely as it makes it's way south out of Girdwood.
3015 leads the MEX south past Gorilla rock as it heads for Whittier and eventually Seward.
6 Mac's have a 70 car train of export coal up to track speed along the Turnagain arm bound for the port of Seward a few hours away.
4014 screams through Portage bound for Seward, this is the last place to shoot the train until it gets to Moose point as the train will get deep into the mountains and glaciers.
