Perfect place for a night shot, near total darkness and right by the side of the road. Unfortunately, there were no trains on the main to streak past this parked work train.

While SD9s are not that uncommon in Northern Minnesota, they are rarely sighted leading trains on the mainline. Here the 1728 leads a CWR train through the vast swamps near Meadowlands, Minnesota.

Thanks to my mom's keen eye we ran across this gem, a relatively clean/rustless B36-7, sitting on the CSX line still active to Keuka (ex-Florida Southern Railway).
