Soo 2719 storms through eastern Duluth, a flashback to DM&IR's Pacific-powered heavyweight train No. 5 for Ely/Winton that rode these same rails up until 1953 when it was replaced by a Budd RDC.
Great to see 2719 under steam at Duluth Union Depot. This locomotive used to haul Soo passengers trains to their depot located just a few hundred yards away from this location.
The NSSR's Saturday Two Harbors run was used as a shake down run for the 2719. Fortunately the clouds parted long enough for a sunny shot as the train crossed the Knife River.
