Interesting trucks on this unit. They are the old style. Note the "tabs" on the truck casting between the axles. These were more common on earlier 6-axle units.

With Southern being the big show in Chattanooga, L&N moved its main yard south of town right on the Georgia line. Here a grizzled old vet shows years of hard work at the small engine facility.

In those days we always expected Alcos here and finding a low horsepower EMD B-B was a big surprise. This is the Patio switcher spotting a reefer.

This handsome Alco was restored to its L&N status by the SARM & Vintage Locomotives.
