The Spencer to Lynchburg "Virginian" accelerates past the classic Southern Railway signals at "Dundee" after a brief stop in Danville.

As the sun begins to set, N&W 611 and her train ease into the Amtrak station at Danville for a quick inspection before returning to Spencer.

611 crosses the Dan River on her southbound run back to Spencer easing to her station stop in Danville with a crowd of photographers gathered on a parallel RR trestle turned rail trail.

611 approaches the NC/VA state line as it works hard to keep moving at speed near the top of the grade from the Dan River.
