Snow squalls obscure the distant hills as a U30B leads a westbound manifest downgrade through a wetland area near Hinsdale, Massachusetts.
18,000 almost brand new horses pulling the grade to Washington. On the rear another 3,000 horses are helping. Whether or not we liked it that much in 1977, we all miss it now.

"Thanks for the push". SD40-2 is cutting off the caboose after a 15 mile push from Chester to Hnsdale. Now the engine crew will coast down hill to Pittsfield with full dynamic brakes.
